This is an opportunity for a Chief Executive who has a passion for change and a genuine desire for delivering services that make a difference.

It could be a step up or you may already have experience at a senior level. In either case, you will be an influencer with integrity – someone capable of driving change and challenging others, without ever losing sight of why we’re here: to deliver value-added services for our residents with compassion, care and consideration.

You will lead and manage the Council toward achieving the highest standards of service and performance. By building strong relationships with Members and Senior Officers, you will develop, support and promote partnership working at local, regional and national level, exploring every opportunity to implement improvements to services and quality of life. In key areas – such as performance management, growth, individual empowerment – you will establish ways of working that continue to bring out the best in our people.

Your leadership skills will be vital. With an energised, dedicated team supporting you, you will be the person who articulates the vision, engages partners, co-ordinates resources and creates a shared sense of purpose. You must have a successful track record as a senior officer within a relevant organisation, with demonstrable evidence of having managed a wide range of substantial services. You must be able to think strategically, to create action plans, and to foster and sustain an entrepreneurial, ambitious and dynamic culture within the organisation.
